If Instagram stops accepting Replavia’s login, Replavia pauses that account’s automations and tells you by email and in the dashboard. Click “Reconnect”, sign in again, then switch your automations back on.

Why a connection drops

Replavia talks to Instagram with a login that Instagram gives it. Instagram can cancel that login. Common reasons are:

  • you changed your Instagram password,
  • Replavia was removed from the connected apps in your Instagram settings,
  • Instagram wants you to log in and confirm it is you,
  • the login reached its expiry date,
  • the account was switched from Professional to Personal.

None of these means your account is in trouble. They only mean Replavia must be allowed back in.

How Replavia notices

Replavia checks each connected account several times a day. It also checks straight away if Instagram refuses a message for login reasons. It confirms the problem before acting, so a short glitch does not trigger it.

When the login is really gone, Replavia:

  1. marks the account Needs Reconnect on the Channels page,
  2. pauses that account’s automations, so nothing fails without you knowing,
  3. shows a banner in your dashboard: Your Instagram connection dropped,
  4. sends you one email that says which account dropped. When the reason is known, the email names it.

Your automations, leads and history are kept. Nothing is deleted.

How to reconnect

  1. Click Reconnect on the dashboard banner, or go to Accounts in the menu.
  2. Next to the account marked Needs Reconnect, click Reconnect.
  3. Sign in on Instagram’s own page with the same account and allow the access it asks for.
  4. Go to Automations and switch on the automations you want running again.

Reconnecting does not switch your automations back on for you. This is on purpose, so nothing starts sending again before you are ready.

If Instagram asked you to confirm it is you

Open the Instagram app first and finish what it asks. Then come back and click Reconnect.

Good to know

  • Refresh token only appears on a working account. It cannot fix a dropped one. Use Reconnect.
  • If the account was switched to Personal, switch it back to Professional in Instagram first. See How to connect your Instagram account.
  • An account you disconnected yourself is listed under Disconnected. Click Reconnect there to bring it back.
  • Reconnecting re-uses the same account in Replavia. You do not lose its automations or leads.
