# My reel went viral. Will everyone who commented get the DM?

> Not always: each Instagram account sends at a set pace, 60 DMs an hour and 200 a day by default. Comments that arrive after the limit is reached get no DM, but the person is still saved as a lead.

- Topic: Account safety
- Plans: Free: limited · Pro: included · Scale: included. Free: 60 an hour, 200 a day. Pro and Scale can raise it to 200 and 2,000.

A viral reel is great news, and it can also mean thousands of comments in a few hours. Here is the honest answer about what Replavia does with them.

## The short answer

Replavia sends DMs at a steady pace for each Instagram account. It does not send everything at once.

| | Per hour | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| Default, every plan | 60 | 200 |
| Highest you can set (Pro and Scale) | 200 | 2,000 |

If more people comment than the limit allows, some of them will not get a DM. See [Replavia’s sending limits](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/sending-limits) for the full details.

## What happens to a comment after the limit

When an account reaches its hourly or daily limit, Replavia stops sending until the limit resets. For each comment that arrives in that time:

- No DM is sent, and the automation’s public reply is not posted.
- The comment is not saved to answer later. It is skipped.
- The person is still saved as a lead in your **Lead Inbox**, unless they replied STOP before.

If the same person comments again after the limit resets, the automation answers as normal.

## Why Replavia paces sending

A sudden burst of the same message to many people looks like spam. Spam systems are built to act on exactly that pattern. Replavia keeps your sending steady to lower that risk.

For the same reason, replies wait a short, random time before they go out. Each comment gets at most one automated DM. A person who comments five times on the same post gets one DM, not five.

## What you can do

1. Open **Account safety** to see how many DMs went out this hour and today.
2. Watch for the warning at 80% of a limit. It appears on your **Overview** page and says when sending starts again.
3. On Pro or Scale, raise the limits after the account’s first 7 days. Raise them in small steps, and raise the hourly and daily numbers together.
4. Use [DM history](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/dm-history) to check who did receive the DM.
5. Use [Analytics](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/analytics) to see which post brought the most leads.

## Good to know

- A newly connected account warms up for its first 7 days. During that week it sends fewer DMs a day, whatever plan you are on.
- The limits are for each Instagram account. Each brand you connect has its own limits.
- The Free plan also has 1,500 DMs a month. See [Can I get more free DMs?](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/get-more-free-dms)
- No tool can promise how Meta enforces its rules. Pacing lowers the risk; it does not remove it.
