# How AI comment replies work

> On Pro and Scale, the AI writes a public reply to questions and kind comments on your posts, using only facts you give it. By default every reply waits for you to approve it.

## What it does

When someone asks a question or leaves a kind comment on your post, the AI writes a reply for you. It is told to answer only from facts you supply, and never to make up a price, a policy or a promise.

You do not need your own AI account or API key. The AI is included in your plan price, with no extra charge per reply.

## How many replies you get

This is one allowance for all AI features. Replies from the AI DM assistant use the same monthly total. A draft that fails is not counted. The **AI budget** box shows what is left.

## Set it up

1. Open **AI Replies** in the menu.
2. Open the **Settings** tab. Tick **Draft AI replies for comments on my posts**.
3. Under **Publishing**, choose how much the AI may post on its own. See the table below.
4. Click **Save settings**.
5. Add your facts. On the **Web knowledge** tab, paste a link to a page and click **Add page**. On the **Documents** tab, upload a menu, price list or FAQ.

The AI also uses your **What you offer**, **Do's and don'ts** and **FAQ the agent can answer** from the **AI Agent** tab of **Lead Inbox**.

|---|---|
| **Review everything before it posts (recommended)** | Every reply waits for you. Nothing posts until you approve it. This is the default. |
| **Auto-publish my saved replies — AI answers still wait for me** | Replies from your own saved wording post on their own. Anything the AI wrote still waits. |
| **Auto-publish everything, including AI answers** | AI replies post on their own too. |

Auto-publish skips the waiting list, not the checks. Every reply still passes the brand-safety check and your hourly and daily limits. You can switch back at any time.

## Approve replies

Open the **Review queue** tab. Read each reply and change the words if you want. Then click **Approve & post** or **Reject**.

## The reply library

Each reply you approve to a kind comment is saved on the **Reply library** tab. You can also add your own. Once you have 10 different replies, kind comments get a reply taken from your own words, not new AI text. These replies cost no AI. The library holds up to 200 active replies.

Questions are always answered by the AI, using your web pages and documents.

## Good to know

- The AI answers from the facts in your [knowledge library](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/knowledge-library). Replies you approve can be reused through the [reply library](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/reply-library).
- Every reply, from the AI or from your library, passes a brand-safety check before it posts.
- Knowledge sources belong to one Instagram account. Settings you leave blank for an account use your shared settings, so give each brand its own offer and FAQ. See [AI for several brands](https://stage.mydmflow.com/help/ai-for-several-brands).
- Nothing you add is used to train an AI model.
- When the AI DM assistant reads a private chat, emails and phone numbers are removed first.
